Laxenburg Palace Park is the largest historical landscape garden in Austria and invites you to take relaxing walks in a special ambience. As the former summer residence of the Habsburgs, the extensive park combines nature experiences with insights into imperial history and garden art. A network of paths over 10 km long leads to historic buildings and striking locations such as the Old Palace, the Green Pleasure House and the Concordia Temple.
The park is open daily and offers a varied program of events and activities during the season from Easter to All Saints' Day. The heart of the park is located on an island in the middle of the castle pond: the romantic Franzensburg, which can be visited as part of a guided tour.
Recurring highlights include the spring kick-off with Circus Pikard, the winter Illumina Garden of Lights and the Great Knights' Festival on Horseback. In the summer months, moonlight tours take place at Franzensburg Castle, while at the end of October, things get a little more mysterious with the Ghost Hour tour in Laxenburg Castle Park.
